Casamia Homes has taken an innovative step in supporting emerging creative talent by collaborating with a first-year commercial photography student from the University of Derby, Emily Lipski, to produce fresh imagery for its brochures and website.
The partnership came about in an unexpected yet increasingly common way — through the power of social media. Casamia Homes had posted on Instagram asking if any photography students would be interested in gaining real-world experience by contributing to the company’s marketing materials. The post quickly gained attention, eventually reaching Emily through her university tutor, who recognised it as a valuable opportunity and passed it along.
Emily, who is currently in her first year of studying commercial photography, jumped at the chance to apply her skills outside of the classroom. Working with Casamia Homes has allowed her to experience the demands and expectations of a live client brief, from capturing high-quality shots to understanding how imagery is used in branding and property marketing.
Danielle Tyler, Marketing Director for Casamia Homes said the collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to nurturing new talent while also bringing fresh perspectives into their visual content. “We’re always looking for ways to keep our brand authentic and dynamic. Working with students like Emily not only gives them valuable industry experience, but also brings a unique creative energy to our projects.”
For Emily, the experience has been equally rewarding. “It’s been amazing to work on something real that people will actually see. It’s very different from university assignments, and I’m hopeful future assignments and industry opportunities will allow me to work with the likes of Casamia again”.
The collaboration highlights how platforms like Instagram are increasingly bridging the gap between education and industry. What started as a simple post turned into a meaningful professional opportunity, demonstrating how social media can connect businesses with emerging talent in powerful and practical ways.
Casamia Homes hopes to continue similar initiatives in the future, offering more students the chance to develop their skills in real-world settings while contributing to professional projects.
